Kintsugi: The Art of Broken Pieces 9 May 2014

Kintsugi (or kintsukuroi) is the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with a special lacquer mixed with gold, silver or platinum - the idea being to recognise the history of the object by visibly incorporating the repairs instead of disguising them. This video from Greatcoat Films showcases the process and its (beautiful) results:
