Unbeatable rock-paper-scissors robot 27 Jun 2012
Researchers at the University of Tokyo have built a robot that can beat us mere mortals at the game of rock-paper-scissors with a 100% success rate. (In case you're wondering, it cheats: It can recognise human hand shapes in a millisecond. Thus, it waits for its opponent to reveal his or her hand and then responds a millisecond later. As it's so quick, this cheating is near impossible to spot.)
