Mimeisthai is a 1,027 square metre sound installation that uses an array of parabolic mics to capture snippets of conversation from people within its bounds. It then uses these snippets to form a visual representation of the hottest emerging topics. (Think Twitter, but with spoken rather than typed input.)
The clips below show the unveiling of the technology at TEDx Sydney 2012 and the visualisation generated as those present in the theatre chatted among themselves.
