Auto-lacing shoes 8 Jul 2010

Inspired by Back to The Future II, Blake Bevi attached micro-controllers to the back of a pair of retro Nikes to give them Power Laces.

They work like so: When you step into a shoe, a force sensor reads the pressure of your foot and activates two servo motors, which apply tension to the laces to tighten them. Flicking a switch reverse the effect.
