Muscle-Computer Interfaces: Play Guitar Hero without a guitar 27 Oct 2009

One of the best projects at User Interface Software and Technology (UIST) this year was a muscle sensing system that (amongst other things) allows you to play Guitar Hero without a guitar. This is achieved by directly sensing the electrical signals in your arms and mapping them to the appropriate button presses.

The system was developed by Scott Saponas - a PhD candidate in the Computer Science & Engineering department at the University of Washington.
