Snoozy the Sloth 19 May 2009

Hot on the heels of Arduino the Cat, Breadboard the Mouse and Cutter the Elephant comes Snoozy the Sloth - a stuffed animal that breathes when you hug it. The effect is achieved via an Arduino microcontroller, two diaphragm pumps and a latex glove that together act as a "lung" - which means that not only does the toy's chest expand and contract, it also takes in and expels air. In other words, hold it close and you can feel its warm breath on your neck. Cute or creepy? You decide.
