David Byrne Bike Racks 6 Jan 2009



Judging the NYC Department of Transportation's recent "Design New York City's New Bike Racks" competition inspired former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne to sketch up a few concepts of his own. To his surprise, the DoT responded by commissioning them. Each design reflects the location in which it is situated. For example, the rack on Wall Street is dollar-sign-shaped, while the design outside Bergdorf Goodman takes the form of a giant high heel!
