YouTube's new Audio Preview commenting feature 9 Oct 2008

A couple of weeks ago, xkcd posted the following comic strip:

The comic strip suggested that if YouTube commenters had to listen to their comments read aloud before they were allowed to post them, it might lead to better discussion. The theory being that most users would then realise how moronic their comments were and would be more likely to delete them.

Apparently, this idea tickled the imagination of Google (the owners of YouTube), so they went ahead and implemented it. As such, YouTube now has an "Audio Preview" button that lets you listen to your comments before you post them!

Well done Google for once again proving that big companies can have a sense of humour.
