Gmail Goggles = No more drunken email sending! 7 Oct 2008

If you liked Gmail's forgotten attachment detector, you'll love its new Mail Goggles feature...
Mail Goggles is designed to prevent you from sending emails that you might later regret. If you've ever downed a few pints on a Friday night and then emailed your ex to suggest that you get back together or emailed your boss to tell him that he can shove his bleeping job up his bleeping-bleep, then you'll immediately understand the need for such "save me from myself" protection.
Here's how it works: Each time you attempt to send a late night email, Mail Goggles asks you solve a few simple (but sobering) maths problems in under 60 seconds - thereby ensuring that you are lucid enough to know what you're doing. If you pass the test the email is sent. If you fail however, the email sits patiently in your Drafts folder awaiting review - or, more likely, immediate deletion - in the morning!

Lovely idea. The maths problems seem to be pitched at just the right level of complexity to determine a drunk user from a sober one.

Cool - now I just need Outlook and Facebook to add the same feature!
