Adobe Updater: King of the ridiculous dialog message! 13 Oct 2008

When it comes to stupid dialog messages, Adobe Updater rules! The message above threatens to tear a hole in the time-space continuum, for example; while the message below is just plain annoying (It appears when all updates have failed to install - in other words, when no "updating" has occurred whatsoever!).

If you need any further convincing of Adobe's claim to the title of "King of the ridiculous dialog message" read DesignAday's critique of its "There are no updates available at this time" message:

"Do I really need to be interrupted by a dialog telling me that there is nothing to report? That's like a car turning on a fuel indicator and going "bing" to let you know that you have plenty of gas in your tank. Every other software updater on my machine does its work quietly in the background, only drawing my attention when they have something useful to say."
