Electrolux's Flatshare Fridge 15 Sep 2008
The Flatshare Fridge from Electrolux has been designed specifically with students in mind. As you can see, it's "built" from a series of modular stacking units - each one providing just enough refrigeration space for a single person - which means that each flatmate gets his or her own separate compartment. The design therefore prevents squabbling over hygiene (since each person is responsible for the cleanliness of his or her own personal unit) and elimates confusion around who owns what (thus excuses like "Sorry I drank all your beer - I thought it was mine!" will no longer wash).

What about the valuable lessons learned from negotiating a shared resource? We need to learn to cooperate more, not compartmentalise everything :-)

I agree with Tamlyn. Also, they would be incredibly energy-inefficient as they're separately wired and each with their own compressor. Tut tut.
