Seeing Machines' faceAPI is a software package that enables automated tracking of heads and faces in three dimensional space using nothing more than a webcam. As you can see in the video, this technology can be used to produce a number of interesting effects like allowing users to zoom in by simply leaning closer towards the screen.

Never before has an entirely pointless screensaver looked so good!

CowardlyCustard: Okay, so this isn't the best demo ever produced...but think of the possibilities...Imagine being able to look around the side of your currently maximised browser window to see what applications are running behind it...Imagine an exploded diagram of, say, a car, that you could peer around from different angles...We think this technology has potential.
