Bruno Taylor: Play as you go 20 Aug 2008

71 percent of adults used to play on the streets when they were young; 21 percent of children do so nowadays. Sad, but a true. What can we do about it? Well, Bruno Taylor has a few ideas.
While completing his Masters in Industrial Design at Central Saint Martin, Bruno explored different ways of bringing play back into public space - focusing specifically on adapting existing street furniture and architectural elements so as to provide opportunities for incidental play in the public realm. The photo above (and video clip below) shows how he added swings to London bus stops to let commuters "play as you go".
