Adaptive Path's Aurora 5 Aug 2008
Aurora is a concept video created by Adaptive Path, in partnership with Mozilla Labs, that defines "a plausible vision of how technology, the browser, and the Web might evolve in the future by depicting that experience in a variety of real-world contexts."
This vision incorporates four main themes: context awareness (the technology's ability to adapt based on the user's behaviour and physical environment over time), natural interaction (allowing users to work with objects in 3D space, as opposed to abstract metaphors like windows, desktops and menus), continuity (a consistent user experience across all platforms/devices) and multi-user applications (the ability to collaborate and share with others). Sounds interesting, doesn't it?
The release of Aurora is part of the launch of Mozilla Labs' browser concept series, an ongoing initiative to encourage designers and developers to contribute their own visions of the future of the browser and the web.
