Exoskeletons are here...almost! 22 Jul 2008

Seems like exoskeletons are finally about to make the transition from Sci-Fi to reality - the video clip above shows how one such device has enabled a quadriplegic man to walk for the first time in 20 years.

Such exoskeletons are still in development - the one in the video is a medical prototype that's just about to undergo trials in the US - but you can see the life-changing potential.

Wow! Truly incredible! Imagine what this technology will be like in ten years' time, when all of the components have been miniaturized.

And when the miniaturized components are combined with a brain interface eg. emotiv.com (instead of that wrist strap).
