The new UI wars 18 Jun 2008
Counternotions' Kontra provides a comprehensive explanation of why there's still no Flash on the iPhone (and why there may never be Flash on the iPhone):
"Many reasons have been floated for why Flash isn't a good match for the iPhone: it's slow, it hogs CPU cycles, it drains the battery, it crashes too often, it's not optimized for Mac OS X and so on. As obvious as these reasons may be, even if all those technical issues could be solved tomorrow, there would still remain a huge divide between Adobe and Apple on the iPhone: who controls the UI?"

Interesting. Seems like it's Adobe's fault to me. Until Flash supports multi-touch interaction there's no point in Apple integrating Flash into the iPhone.

Not sure how I feel about Apple's attitude towards Flash. On the one hand, I think the world would be a a better place without most of the Flash content that's out there. On the other hand however, I don't like the way that Apple is "censoring" the web by deliberately denying users access to content in this way.
