Unusual input devices #003: Simtrix's Swiftpoint Slider and TriPed 23 Jun 2008

Frustrated by the built-in trackpad on your notebook? Wish you could use a mouse but often find yourself without a flat surface to operate it on? Simtrix's Swiftpoint products may just be the solution you've been yearning for.

The video clip above shows the Swiftpoint Slider - an ingenious thumb-activated device that slides over your laptop, effectively turning your entire keyboard into a mouse mat.

Also available is the TriPed, a sort of mouse-cum-pen-cum-text-entry-tool that's designed to assist users of Tablet PCs and multi-touch tabletop surfaces.
