QR code tombstones! 10 Jun 2008

QR codes seem to be flavour of month at the moment. So much so in fact, that the Japanese have begun putting them on their tombstones!. These codes mean that mourners can scan them (with their mobile phones' cameras) to receive images and video of the deceased (?!)

"In addition to images of the deceased, people can view a greeting from the chief mourner at the funeral and browse through the guest book. They can also make entries using their cell phones."
