Tenori-on creators interviewed, neither can play music 8 May 2008

We first wrote about Tenori-on back in August 2007, but it seems to have taken until now for the idea to really take off. While there's a lot being written about this revolutionary digital instrument at the moment, Pingmag has delivered the most interesting article - an interview with the Tenori-on's creators Toshio Iwai and Yu Nishibori of Yamaha.

The interview contains many interesting insights from a user experience perspective...like the fact that neither of the two creators are musicians (which is why it had to be easy to play!)...and that Yamaha were initially concerned that the instrument was "too new"...and that the product's shape was designed so as to fit perfectly within the palms of average adult's hands (So that when you hold it, it's wide enough for your fingers to grasp and your thumbs meet at the centre).
