We were delighted to receive an email from business guru Guy Kawasaki last week, informing us that our humble blog (the one you're reading right now) had been chosen for inclusion in Alltop.
Alltop collects news, articles and blog posts from "all the top" sites on the web, and groups them into a series of single-page sites based on topics such as the environment, photography and science. Each of these sites is a sort of "dashboard," "table of contents," or "digital magazine rack" if you like, for those interested in the particular topic in question. You can find us in the "user interface design" site.
We're truly flattered to be included in Alltop for many reasons. Firstly, we're big fans of Guy - we're avid readers of his blog and are currently working our way through the vast catalogue of books he's written. (In case you're unfamiliar with Mr. Kawasaki, he's the managing director of Garage Technology Ventures, a columnist for Entrepreneur Magazine and was a former Mac evangelist at Apple. He's also the author of "The Art of the Start", "Rules for Revolutionaries", "How to Drive Your Competition Crazy", "Selling the Dream" and "The Macintosh Way").
Secondly, it's great to feature alongside many of the bloggers/authors/sites that we read regularly and respect - like 37signals (Signal vs. Noise), Roger Johansson (456 Berea Street) and Khoi Vinh (Subtraction).
Thirdly, inclusion in Alltop is largely driven by the recommendations of the Twitter community - so it sounds like we're generating some positive word-of-mouth. (If you're one of those responsible for spreading the word about Etre, please accept our heartfelt thanks...and for Lord's sake keep doing whatever it is you're doing! :-)
