Vertical farms 24 Apr 2008
The "vertical farm" is a concept that's really beginning to gather some momentum. City dwellers seem to love the idea of their food being grown in the place where they live. Don't they worry about pollution?! Anyway, New York Magazine recently asked four architects to dream up proposals to fill a lot on Canal Street in NYC. Treehugger showcases what they came up with (including the "diagonal farm" pictured above from Work AC).
