Black is the new black! 10 Apr 2008
Black products are all the rage in Japan at the moment. First came charcoal toothpaste (yep, you heard me right, charcoal toothpaste), then came black cotton wool buds (for cleaning your ears with). Now it's black tissues!

Sure, they look pretty stylish (well, sort of), but how can you tell if you've...erm...caught everything in them?

Actually, there are lots of usability benefits associated with use of black. As the article you point to suggests, it is often much easier to see stuff that's sitting on a black background. Not sure if this applies to snot though :-S

Charcoal toothpaste doesn't sound too user freindly. I wouldn't wanna put something that is black (unclean) in my mouth, would you?

Is it just me or do these tissues seem really morbid? Seems like they were made for funeral-goers or something.
