Gizmodo reports on the Jupiter Mouse - a wooden device that you hold and tilt, rather than move around. Tilting it results in cursor movement in the relevant direction, while the magnitude of the tilt determines the pointer's velocity.

wow! i love the wood finish - it looks amazing and i imagine it makes the mouse a pleasure to hold. Not sure about the tilt-to-position-the-cursor functionality tho - sounds like an incredibly imprecise method of input to me.

gee, took most people long enough to get used to the simple mouse as a device, if we're going to move on to another way of interacting with a computer, why not make it MORE natural instead of even less?
And why can't designers think in terms of form AND usability.
Don't get me wrong, I love stupid gadgets just as any other guy I guess, but this is plain useless
