TEC Japan's Tobidasu 3D Table Menu 12 Mar 2008

Following last week's post on "Ordering wine, Minority Report style", we stumbled across this article from CScout that suggests that the Japanese have gone one better. The article profiles TEC Japan's new "Tobidasu Menu" ("Pop-up menu") - a device that is embedded into restaurant tables to allow customers to browse the various culinary delights on offer. So what? Well, what's particularly special about this menu is that each meal is displayed in glorious 3D allowing customers to "experience" the food from all angles!

(There are also a number of wacky features - for example, customers can place a hamburger bun on the surface of the table and lift it up to reveal a digital burger with all the trimmings!)
