IE8 will use IE8's standards mode by default (?!) 4 Mar 2008

Looks like the web development community won: Microsoft has reversed its decision to make IE8 show pages requesting "standards mode" in IE7's (buggy) standards mode. IE8 will now show pages in IE8's (top notch) standards mode by default (and in IE7's standards mode only if requested).

Great news! After reading it here, I had to verify the story with several other sources cos I just couldn't believe that it might be true!

Great news indeed! This is how it should have been from the start of course, but kudos to MS for having the good sense and humility to revoke its previous decision. Standardistas across the world salute you!
