Ceramix For Mix: The spoon is dead! 25 Feb 2008

Two cups - the bottom of each is wider than the normal and contains a small white ball.

A storyboard shows how you can swish the cup to move the white ball around the bottom in a circular motion that stirs your tea.

If you can never find a clean spoon to stir your brew with, then "Ceramix For Mix" is the cup for you. Designed by Florian Dussopt, Jérémie Reneau and Julie Girard, its bottom features a molded glass groove (resembling a roulette wheel) that acts as a track for a small ceramic ball to move along. When you swish the cup, the ball spins around the track and mixes your drink. Sweet! (Don't worry folks, the inventors' careful design ensures that the ball can't slip out and choke you to death!)

Nice idea, but does it mix your cuppa as thoroughly as when you use a spoon?
