Beware of invisible cows 4 Feb 2008

A sign that reads: 'Beware of invisible cows. Most of the Mauna Kea access road below Hale Pohaku is open cattle range, and the cows frequently cross the road. Dark coloured cows are often invisible in darkness and/or fog. Use extreme caution and drive very slowly in this open range.'

This sign - found at the Mauna Kea Visitor Centre, Hawaii - is a great example of an "warning message" that provides only semi-useful advice. If the cows are invisible, driving slowly and carefully isn't going to stop you from hitting them!

hehehe that made me laugh. Have always wanted to visit Mauna Kea, and I definitely want to now!! I think the sign works in that you immediately read it to find out what the hell they're talking about. Nicely done :-)
