While it may sound like something from Transformers, Artemy Lebedev's "Optimus Tactus" is actually a new "concept keyboard" that replaces physical keys with a touch-screen monitor. This means that any part of the keyboard's surface can be programmed to perform any function.

(Looks like the logical evolution of the Ergodex DX1 to us.)

Looks great but users will no doubt suffer as a result of the lack of tactile feedback. For that reason, I'd go for the Ergodex over this design.
