A playground for Grandma 31 Jan 2008

Britain's first playground for senior citizens opened in Manchester yesterday. Instead of slides and roundabouts, it is equipped with machines that are specially designed to provide gentle exercise and movement to simulate different parts of the body, such as the hips, legs and torso. It's also intended to be fun, of course. Residents association chairman Joan FitzGerald told the Daily Mail: "When we tested it all the people we took in were over 70 and I have never heard so much laughing. I believe you are never too old to play and this also helps keep you fit."
The seniors' playground is located right next to a children's playground, so kids can watch their grandparents having fun while they do likewise!

Love this idea. Grow old dis-gracefully, I say!
