First OLPC deployment: Now it's real 4 Dec 2007
Congratulations to the OLPC team on fulfilling its first major laptop order. Despite various threats to the project, the team arrived in Uruguay last week to give out about a thousand machines to some of the nation's poorest children. Another seven thousand will be distributed over the course of the next two weeks, with another 90 thousand to follow in the coming months. Peru is next: they signed an order for 260 thousand on Saturday.
