The municipal libraries in Cardiff (Wales) and Kansas City (Missouri, US) have turned their facades into giant bookcases to create a surreal experience for passers-by. Cardiff's "shelf" - pictured above - is a temporary fixture that will be removed when renovations to the building behind are complete. Missouri's, however - pictured below - is more of a permanent fixture - it's contents were voted for by local residents who were asked to nominate "books that represent Kansas City".
