Deconstructing Lichtenstein 25 Oct 2007

David Barsalou has spent the last 25 years of his life pouring through every illustration in over 30,000 comic books in order to find the original sources of Roy Lichtenstein's iconic pop-art images! (Not sure how people find the time to do this type of thing, but God bless 'em, I say). Take a look at his gallery and Flickr feed to see the results of his investigation.

You can also put a lot of analysis into how Lichtenstein has changed the source material. For instance, in the original panel, the woman looks disappointed and perhaps suspicious. In Lichtenstein's panel she looks annoyed and skeptical.
