The Bubble Gum Bin: Upcycling used gum 25 Oct 2007

A rubbish bin that looks like a small, pink globe. A tiny circular hole is cut in the top, so that people can deposit their used gum within. A recycling logo and the word 'gum' is printed on the side.

Following yesterday's post on Heineken's WOBO, we came across another great example of "upcycling": Anna Bullus's "Bubble Gum Bin".

The bin is made from Gumnetic, a new biodegradable material made from sterilised used chewing gum and bio resin. As you'd expect, it is intended to keep chewing gum litter from our pavements and shoes, however, there's also a second benefit: when full of waste gum, the entire container can be recycled to make even more bins!
