The FogScreen projector: A mist opportunity for advertisers 6 Aug 2007

A projector hangs from the roof of a tunnel - projecting a images of a shadowy figure below.

Gizmodo reports on FogScreen - "the advertising industry's latest weapon in the fight against peace and quiet". FogScreen projectors spray a very fine dry mist (created from water by an ultrasonic wave) and then project advertisements onto it, just as if it were a hard surface. This allows marketers to create ads that people can walk through in confined spaces like corridors and subway tunnels.

The question is: Will people accept this level of intrusion from advertising? I imagine that some people will find the sight of an SUV barrelling towards them at 100mph quite disturbing as they make their way along a dark underpass.
