Fingerless gloves are back! (Thanks to mobile devices) 21 Aug 2007

NOTCOT observes that fingerless gloves are firmly back in fashion. Why? Because of the proliferation of mobile devices we're carrying these days. Normal gloves make it impossible to operate the tiny keypad of our cellphones / iPhones / iPods / Blackberries / PDAs etc. without frustrating fat-fingering problems.

The perfect accessory after you've had a "twittering" operation to make your fingers tips smaller for mobile use.

Next they will intergrate LED's in the gloves so your hands flash when you have an incoming call. :-D

Of course, it's not just about fat-fingered-ness and lack of tactile feedback. Capacitive touch screens don't respond to covered fingers (or fingernails, or pen tips) the way resistive touch screens do.

It's interesting to see how mobile technology is shaping fashion. Seems like everything has an iPhone-sized pocket on it these days.

I cannot find any fingerless gloves that will protect the back of my hand, as I bruise easily, and have enought extended wrist with firm fixing for artthritic problems. I hate medical supports and want something at least of bright colour and fashionable
