Content-aware image resizing 22 Aug 2007
This video by Dr. Ariel Shamir shows a software application that resizes images in such a way that the content of the image is preserved intelligently. Darby Sawchuk explains:
"The basic idea is that if you want to stretch out an image, it will keep the key elements of the photo in sensible places while filling in less important areas. The same goes for shrinking an image - it will eliminate the less important features of an image and leave the main subject areas intact and in the same relative location as they previously appeared in the image."

Wow, this is incredible. Is this application available? I didn't notice mention of when and where it would be available. I'm sure Adobe already has an offer in mind.

Hi,
If you are looking for a software to try out seam carving, take a look at http://www.thegedanken.com/retarget
The program that you can download there (for Windows and Linux, and free) is already highly optimized concerning speed, and apart from enlarging or decreasing image size you can also use masks to protect or delete certain parts of your image.
Have fun,
Irmgard

Check out rsizr.com for a Flash-based implementation of seam carving that lets you resize your own images, both in height and width simultaneously, in real time. (You can rescale and crop images too!)

If you're in uncomfortable position and have got no cash to move out from that point, you will require to take the credit loans. Just because that will help you definitely. I get student loan every time I need and feel myself fine just because of it.
