Is Apple about to reinvent the track pad? 17 Jul 2007
A recent patent filed by Apple describes an "improved feedback mechanism for touch pads", including "devices capable of illuminating the touch sensitive surface of the touch pad" and "methods for providing visual feedback at the touch pad." Interesting stuff. The diagrams also appear to show support for gestures and "chords" (i.e. the ability to press two or more areas of the pad at the same time to perfrom an advanced operation).
