London 2012 Olympic logo 5 Jun 2007

Wham! are back..wait...false alarm...looks like it's actually the new London 1986 2012 Olympic logo. We don't think it's that bad, however, the press have been almost universally critical of it. Interesting how the blame has been pinned firmly on the design agency and not the client. Surely it takes two to tango when you're spending £400,000.

Yes I agree, blame should be firmly on both. The client clearly have a misguided view of what Britain actually is - we are not stuck in the 80s and living in a Madonna video. This says nothing of the host country. And have you seen the full animated version for TV? It's like an 80s pop reunion!! Terrible! I'd like to see any alternative designs they might have had...
My review of it is here:

Looking at the other designs for the olympic logos i.e. beijing etc. our logo is much better. Its nice and it reminds be of Polysics..
Its going to be design classic in a few years...

Possibly the worst logo imaginable with no identity associated with London or the Olympics!
The British people can do better - there is a new website campaigning for a second logo chosen by the public!

The cost is a joke. But the design itself is 2012 and looks cool, although I'm not sure what the rhombus between the 1 and the 2 stands for. Go with it.
