TAF: Uncommon commonness 29 May 2007

Two staircases. Instead of having level steps both have angled steps making them a challenge to climb.

Swedish architects Gabriella Gustafson & Mattias Ståhlbom of TAF aim "to make ordinary life less ordinary through subtle but effective changes in how products and architecture appear and function. A recurrent departure point in TAF projects is that everyday objects by their very commonness can be made uncommon."

Took me a while to realise that the photo had been shot looking down the staircase. Seems a lot more user friendly now :)
