Firefox 3: More new features revealed 1 Mar 2007
Yahoo! News has more on Firefox 3.0's new features. Aside from the much-reported "work offline" mode, bookmarks and history are also due for a revamp:
"Mozilla would like to create a function where bookmarks could be automatically sorted based on popularity and frequency rather than the static presentation now...Firefox 3.0 will also have a small, embedded database -- SQL Lite -- that will eventually be used for full-text indexing of the browser's 'history.' Users could search for images and text and see the cached page."
There's also some info about Firefox 3.0's successor! (Yes, they really are talking about a successor before having released its predecessor!). Firefox 4.0 will apparently support the JavaScript 2 language - a language that is intended to make high-performance web applications easier to write and assemble for those with limited coding know-how. That's some promise to live up to, but let's hope they pull it off.
