iPod vending machines 2 Jan 2007
Seems like the trusty old vending machine is back in fashion again, so here are a couple of videos of Apple's iPod vendor in action. The first clip shows how the user interface works, while the second clip shows the mechanical dispensing action (unlike chocolate bars, you can't just drop an iPod into the collection tray - not unless you want to serve it in pieces!):
What's slightly strange about all this is that Apple seems to have installed the majority of these machines in airports. On the face of it, this seems like a great idea - an iPod can really help while away the hours on a long haul flight. But only if it is chock-full of MP3s. Unfortunately, the iPods dispensed from these vending machines are empty!

I would say most people buying these from airports have music with them via laptop or some other device.
Simple.
