More installation tribulations 8 Dec 2006

If you want to install the latest version of Adobe Reader on your Mac, you'll need to download an Adobe Download Manager installer to install Adobe Download Manager which, once installed, can be used to download an Adobe Reader installer which, once installed, can be used to install the Adobe Reader 8.0 application?! Take a look at Chris Perardi's Flickr screenshots to see this sorry process in action.

Crazy eh?! Especially since this confusing workflow has existed since (at least) version 7 of the app.

Perhaps worst of all however, is the fact that the Adobe Reader installer places the app in your Applications folder (with no option to specify a different location) even if you decline to accept the license agreement.
