Max Factor's eye-watering ad campaign 16 Nov 2006

Max Factor's latest billboard campaign is rain-sensitive. As you can see from the photos above, the woman sports finely groomed eyelashes in dry weather, but when it rains, her mascara runs down her cheeks.

It's a nice idea - but we're not sure whether it gets its message across effectively. While the intention is no doubt to suggest that ladies should purchase Max Factor's run-resistant cosmetics, at a glance the billboard seems to scream "Max Factor's makeup runs like crazy!"

You're right, the concept doesn't work. But its generated a helluva lot of buzz, so its still a major success in my book.
