Firefox 2.0 close to release 18 Oct 2006

Mozilla made Firefox 2.0 Release Candidate 3 available last night, meaning that the official launch is very close. Version 2.0 doesn't offer too many new user interface features as performance enhancements have been the main focus of this release. However, there are one or two nice touches, including the addition of an automatic spell checker (that lets you check the text you've typed into forms), automatic restoration of tabs that you had open in the event of a crash and full-on anti-phishing protection.

Read more about the browser's new features at Techcrunch (or head on over to Mozilla.org and get your requests in early for Firefox v3.0!).
