Update the updater 27 Sep 2006

On Saturday, we reported the trouble that Derek K. Miller experienced when trying to install Adobe Reader. The problem centred around Derek having to "download a program that runs an installer to install some software to download an updater than downloads more files to run an installer that installs software".

Today, we stumbled across another ludicrous piece of UI design from Adobe. Quentin Carnicelli came across the dialog below when using Adobe Creative Suite.

The Adobe Updater must update itself before it can check for updates. Would you like to update the Adobe Updater now? Quit / Cancel.

Carnicelli confesses "When I first saw it, I was disappointed that the 'OK' button wasn't labeled 'Update'."
