Re: Flex 29 Jun 2006
Adobe launched Flex 2 today (along with Flash Player 9). In case you missed the first version, Flex is a web development environment used by programmers to build rich internet applications from Flash and AJAX components. The main advantage of Flex is that it makes developing sexy, whiz-bang web applications a lot easier (via its Eclipse-based IDE). Nothing wrong with that, but we can't help bracing ourselves for the next rash of inaccessible websites.
While Adobe / Macromedia has greatly improved the accessibility features of Flash over the years, significant problems still remain. As for Flash Player 9, many platforms are still waiting for the release of version 8!
