The handbag that won't let you forget 26 Apr 2006

Students at Canada's Simon Fraser University have invented a handbag that stops you from forgetting your keys, wallet and mobile phone. RFID tags are inserted into your possessions and a reader at the bottom of the bag checks they're all in place before you leave the house. An LED screen on the outside of the bag lights up to display an image of anything that's missing.
Other versions of "The Ladybag" aimed at the teenage market detect force and motion, translating it into one of seven different emoticons. For example, if the owner hugs the bag, a smiling face will light up the LED screen. Altogether now: "Awwwww!"
